The Dubuque Jaycees are pleased to host the Tri-States Largest Chili Cook-Off in Dubuque’s historic Cable Car Square on Saturday, October 7, 2017. This marks the 25th year for the event, which has become a time honored tradition, enjoyed by many over the years. The day is full of games, live music, fun, and of course chili! This event has received fantastic attendance year after year and only continues to grow.

CASI Division
No Fillers Allowed – CASI Regulations apply


OPEN Division – Make your Favorite Chili
Beans and other fillers allowed



Business Division – Almost Anything Goes!



Junior Division – 18 years and under
Make your Favorite Chili Beans and other fillers allowed



SALSA CONTEST – Enter Your Best!
MUST be made on premises
RULES & RECOMMENDATIONS
• Chili is judged on 5 criteria: Aroma, Red
Color, Consistency, Taste, & Aftertaste

• Showmanship is judged on 5 areas:
Theme, Costume, Booth Set-up, Action,
& Audience Appeal

DO NOT bring pre-made chili! Must be
made from scratch that day.

• Bring your own handwashing station,
cooking thermometer, USDA Approved meat,
spices, overhead protection (i.e. tent),
cooking stove and fuel, utensils, pans,
tables and chairs.

• Cleaning stations will be provided

• No smoking or pets in cooking areas.

• If competing in showmanship – bring
props and costumes!

• Each cook receives a goody bag for
entering.

NO CARRY IN ALCOHOL
This will be strongly enforced. If in
violation you will be disqualified and
asked to leave the premises.

• DONATION CHILI – Help us provide
public tasting chili. We provide 5 lbs. of
FREE additional Ground Beef for you to
cook and serve
